I wanted to add to Martin's note that Mark MacDonald will be installed as the new Indigenous Bishop of Canada at the gathering in Winnepeg today (June 21st). Please remember him, his family and the idigenous people of Canada on this historic day.

I ask your prayers for the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada which began meeting in Winnipeg yesterday (Tuesday 19 June). A new primate will be selected on Friday. On Saturday a decision is to be made whether to officially allow blessings of same sex couples. Archbishop Hutchinson has called for attention to our baptismal covenant, our conscience, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. To follow General Synod developments see www.anglican.ca

The Annual meeting of the Episcopal Women's council will be held on Friday, October 5, at Cedar Shores Hotel, Oacoma, SD....beginning with registration at 10:30 AM; Business Meeting, 11:00 AM. followed by a luncheon at noon. The afternoon program will be a Bible study based on the dramatization of a group of women from Christ Church, Yankton "Bad Women of the Bible", an original script written by Myrna Brennick.
Yearly reports will be heard; the Honored Woman will be chosen, along with up-dates on the sale of Patches and the Quilt distribution. If you have someone to recommend for the Honored Women, send that nomination to Barbara Oates, Facilitator,
at oatesteach@midstatesd.net
