Memorial services for David Beeman, 46, of Hot Springs, son of Billy and Marilyn Beeman, formerly of St. Luke's, Hot Springs, who died Sunday morning trying to escape a wildfire that had suddenly taken his house, will be conducted at the Boulder Falls Convention Center, Highway 18 Bypass, Thursday, July 12, at 4:00 pm.
Pastor Morris Nelson, of the United Churches of Hot Springs will officiate.

A retirement/farewell party for The Rev. Conrad and Deacon Bitsy Ceisel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Lake Andes Pow Wow grounds located East of Lake Andes. May I echo Fr. Allen's comments? I visited with the Beemans and Jan's family yesterday. They were awakened by the fire as it had caught their house on fire already. Jan drove the car and their children through three fences to get out. All plastic and rubber (but the tires) was burned away, the windows were scorched, the paint was charred. She parked it in front of Billy's house and Billy put the fire out before she collapsed.
I am serving as incident chaplain, and the 'biggy' meeting is this morning, the meeting at which the home owners will be told officially that their properties were either destroyed or suffered significant damage.
We have had a bit of rain this morning, and more rain is falling on the western edge of the fire front, so we may be at a turning point on this fire, only 20% contained as of noon yesterday.
Pray also for the Kyle fire 23,000 acres and 90% contained, which has cost several structures and one fire service slurry bomber..
