Comments: I would like information on a mission in Ogala SD. Our ECW knit mittens and selected children in the school for our children to send gifts to. This was in the mid 1960's. My wife would like renew this outreach program now. Is the school still active? If not, is there another outreach childrens program that our ECW might contribute to? Comments: Fr. Bill Hibbert passed peacefully with people present who cared for him deeply. I have never known anyone who worked as hard as he did to live out his Baptismal Covenant. He was a man of deep convictions and yet never allowed his convictions to affect his pastoral interactions if he felt he might hinder anyone's relationship with Jesus Christ. More simply put, he loved his Lord more than he loved the politics of life. He was a fine mentor for me and always had words of praise and encouragement for me. Even though he served as the Rector of St. Andrew's for so many years, he made a lasting impression on the people of St. Matthew's. They cared for him deeply and have been praying diligently his healing ever since he first became ill. Fr. Bill will be missed by so many, but his powerful witness will continue to shine for us as we continue to walk this earth serving Christ.

The Rev. William C. Hibbert passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2008 about 8:30 pm in Rapid City. There will be a memorial service at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 8 at St. Andrew's Church in Rapid City. His ashes will be buried in Indiana. Fr. Bill was born in July, 1940 and was ordained a priest in 1965. He served churches in Indiana and South Dakota, retiring in 2002 from St. Andrew's, Rapid City after 10 years service there. His love for the church was matched by his devotion to the Boy Scouts of America organization. He was a positive influence and touched many lives in both arenas.
