It's time to sign up for high school camp.  Send registrations to PO Box 890, Lead, SD  57754.  Forms are available on the diocesan website or we can fax them.  Our fax number is 605-584-2242.  The camp phone number is 605/584-2233.

Registrations for the women's retreat should be sent early to reserve the best spots.  We may be into cabins, as popular as this camp is!  By mid-July I think we'll be done with snow.....

Serving Christ with you,

Holly

Greetings from the snowy Black Hills!

Yes, it is June 12 and there really was snow on the roofs this morning.  The sun is out (yay!) so it is melted now.  We look forward to the 5th and 6th graders arriving this afternoon for their camp.

The Summer Seminary folk are amazing!  We enjoyed great food, some sunshine, some cold, warm hearts, and some of them thought it was work camp.  Dead trees are no longer a danger, there is abundant firewood, and even the tractor started briefly.  It still isn't moved (there are other challenges), but the hope is strong.

Thanks to everyone for their presence, kindness, work, and especially prayers.

Serving Christ with you,

Holly

Update -
We have secured the use of three buildings, two in Eagle Butte and one in Dupree, where folks can be housed. However, there are no individual rooms available, only a large common area in each building.  Folks can set up cots or roll out sleeping bags on the floor. (Think slumber party!)  There are bathrooms available in each building, but only the building in Dupree has showers - one per bathroom, I believe.

We will be cooking and serving meals in the Old Agency Community Building in EB, so folks who stay there will have to roll up their sleeping bags during the day. It is air conditioned.

The Cultural Center in EB will not be available until 9 PM on Thursday because there is already a meeting scheduled.  But our own activities will go until that time, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The Multi-Purpose Building in Dupree will be available each day, but it is 20 miles west of EB on Highway 212.

Again, we are sorry about the inconvenience and short notice about the dormitories.  We hope folks will still come and enjoy the weekend with us.

Niobrara Convocation Alert!

Please pass this information around to those without email, who may be affected by the change.

The rains have caused extensive and substantial damage to the dorms in Eagle Butte – which 100 of you were going to use during Niobrara Convocation. Mother Marion Rectenwald and others are working very hard to find appropriate, alternate lodging arrangements for everyone. She will be contacting every dorm reservation as soon as she can – or you can contact her first at

605-964-7283 or mothermarion@lakotanetwork.com
