Greetings:

I have received word from my dear friend, Garrel Weber, that our friend and supporter, Sharon Weber from the Diocese of Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at her home in Heber Springs, AK.

Sharon will be remembered for her interest in the Native Ministry of this Diocese and for her advocacy on behalf of our Diocese.  She was a wonderful friend to all of us and particularly Ann and myself, who spent time with Garrel and Sharon on our last visit to the Diocese of Arkansas.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Heber Springs, AK  officiated by the Reverend Andrew Jackson.  In lieu of flowers, Sharon requests memorials be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 20 Woodland Cove Drive, Heber Springs AK 72543.

We will miss Sharon and her always happy and optimistic personality at our Niobrara Convocations,   Please pray for her husband, Gerrel, their daughter Dana and her husband Don of Little Rock, and the other members of her family.

May her soul and the souls of all those departed in Christ rest in peace.  Amen.

Actually, even though the 'http://' is not necessary, the reason it failed was the semicolon rather than the colon in the web address.

Christ Church, Yankton, now has a web site and we invite everyone to check it out.   We are grateful to Jennifer Cull, the spouse of Bruce, who is the son of our beloved Kenyon Cull.
The site is:  http;//christepiscopalchurchyankton.com.

It was exciting news to hear that our Presiding Bishop will be with us for Niobrara Convocation next year.  Thank you, Creighton, for making this happen.

And, I hope all the women of the diocese have the annual meeting of the Episcopal Women's Council on their agenda, for Friday, October 5, 2007, beginning at 10:30, with a luncheon, business meeting and afternoon program.
