Episcopal Church Blog averages 1,600 hits daily . . . EpiScope, the news blog of the Episcopal Church's Communication Office, is growing in use with an average of 1,600 hits each day. Led by Jan Nunley, EpiScope has logged over 50,000 visits since February 1.

"It's starting to build readership," Jan observes. "It's a different service that no one else is offering. There are plenty of web blogs about the Episcopal Church. EpiScope is a look at what the secular media is saying about The Episcopal Church. EpiScope is providing us with the capacity to see ourselves as others see us."

Last fall St. Andrew's (Rapid City) starting hosting dinner, worship, and education on the 2nd & 4th Wed. nights of each month.  We call it Wed @ St. Andrew's.  We gather at 5:30 for a simple supper together (donations only).  At 6:10 we worship together.  At 7:00 there are education opportunities for adults,  youth, and children.  People are encouraged to come for part or all of the evening - whatever works best for them.

During Lent we have expanded that format to every Wed. night with soup suppers prepared by various groups or individuals.  Tonight the youth group will be preparing genuine stone soup as well as taking care of the serving, and clean up.

If you are in the area, please stop in and join us.  We will be glad to see you.

Bishop Creighton - thank you for sharing the story of the gift from the Diocese of East Tennessee.  What a wonderful life sustaining gift for a family - a water buffalo named "The Diocese of South Dakota"!  As my family can attest, I am all in favor of gifts that don't have to be dusted.

We are back on again. Sorry for the hiatus, but there were some technical problems (thus having to start all over), and I was away for a few days as well.

A reminder that this is a site for the civil exchange of information by and for the people of the diocese: Notices of events, sharing of ideas or resources that work in a congregation or in personal spiritual growth, alerts to things that don't work as well, good news, prayer requests, and other information of this nature that builds up the Body of Christ.
